Frequently Asked Questions

I have a stomach acid problem and need Pariet. Do you carry it?

Short Answer

Yes, search for rabeprazole sodium.

Long Answer

Rabeprazole Sodium is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), which decreases the production of stomach acid.

This medication may be used:

  • to help Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD) or duodenal ulcers heal
  • to treat Gastrooesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • to deliver relief of painful heartburn symptoms caused by Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) or acid reflux disease
  • to help with excessive secretion of stomach acid due to certain conditions of the pancreas (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome)
  • with antibiotics to control a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) in the stomach

Rabeprazole Sodium must be swallowed whole with water. They are not to be chewed, crushed, cut, or dissolved.

While antacids, such as Maalox, Mylanta, Gelusil, Rolaids and Tums neutralize stomach acid and can provide quick stomach acid relief, they will not heal an inflamed esophagus damaged by stomach acid.
